Steering Column Install
First off let me say HI to everyone here!! This is my first time so please bear with me.
I am re-installing my steering column in my 89 Cherokee and need to make sure that the steering wheel will be straight when the tires are centered. It was a royal pain to just to get to the bolt to get the darn thing out of my jeep. When I finally pulled it out the wheels were pointing to the right. Any ideas please let me know..

jack up the front end and straighten the wheels with your hands.
then hook up the steering column shaft with the steering wheel centered.
when you drive it, you'll be able to tell if it's centered. if not, you can just loosen up the adjuster sleeve on the drag link and twist it till the steering wheel is centered again.
the steering column itself doesn't have a stop. unhooked, it will just spin and spin, so hooking that up perfectly straight isn't all that important.

That is the other issue I am having. With the wheels centered putting the bolt back in is a hard to reach or see spot, unless of course I shouldn't be reaching in through the top of the engine compartment. I can't see anything from underneath.
I will give your suggestion a shot and see what happens. Just hope I don't drop the bolt.
