After i was in a wreck a few months back i noticed i could move the tilt part of my steering column up and down without pulling the lever for the tilt so i have a parts xj but the ignition switch is all hacked up so my question is it possible to take the steering column apart to fix whatever is broken inside of it ? or should i replace the whole column and just fix the ignition switch ?

 

Pull the steering wheel, lock plate, and turn signal switch off and you will see three screws, tighten those screws and see if the wobble is gone.
