Hey, new user here.
I few weeks ago I bought a Jeep Cherokee 4.0 and everything was fine.
But lately I'm having troubles starting that thing. I turn the key and I hear the motor trying to start but fails multiple times. After a few tries (6 or 7) and pushing the gas it would start.
After driving for a few kms and retrying to start theres no problem. I'm only having this issue when the motor is cold.
Anyone got an idea...
Thnx.

Ah thnx guys.
Tonight, when the car stands still for a few hours, I'll try that.
And with "cycle the key on and off" you mean the point just before the actual car start?

One word...
SEAFOAM.
You might have clogged injectors.
Use is sparingly, I just go through the gas tank, half strength of the recommended on the bottle. Mine smoked even with only that much in it.
Personoally, I wouldn't go through the air intake and all that as you might clog up the CAT.
Good-Luck and bless the man (or woman) who invented SeaFoam!

Oke, great, I tried it twice, with positive results. Turning the key for 1 second (hearing the motor trying to start) and return, 3 times and then it would start immediately.
What are the best steps I can solve this issue. I'm handy, but relative new to cars, so simple descriptions would be great.
