Default Starter or Loose Connections

Ok guys heres my situation, went down to the store today got my coffee and what not, got back into my jeep went to start it nothing..not even the click of the starter so i instantly went to that...smacked it a couple times went back in the jeep nothing..this tmie went back smacked down the connections on my battery and gave the starter another smack and this time it started. But im unsure of what it was because when I got back in my cd player had reset like if i took the battery out or it drained. Would this still happen if the starter fails or just if it had a loose connection on the battery?

How do your battery terminals look? If they have corrosion then that could be the cause of your problem. Check battery cables from terminals on. also when was the last time your check or changed the battery?

Unless the starter drained the battery completely it was bad connections at the battery.

They don't have to look bad to be bad, either. My 1992 F150 does this all the time, and I never mess with the starter. Its always the battery cables, and I've always gotta set my radio station presets, too.

That could be the cause of your problem then.. also check to see if the are well secure on the battery, it only takes a lil for it not to have a good connection. They sell battery connections at most auto stores and the not to much money. easy to replace as well.
