starter keeps cranking after key off
Okay I searched but found no real solutions. 1997 xj. Turn the key on to start, it cranks and fires up but won't stop cranking until I pull the starter relay or put it in gear. The nss then opens the ground side of the circuit like it should. I have tried a new starter and ignition switch. I feel as if the problem is I'm getting power to the relay when it should be off. I don't think this is a constant short either because I can put the relay back in later and the starter doesn't run until I turn the key again. I can't find a good wiring diagram. I do have a viper remote start as of a few years ago, but I unplugged everything and it still does it. Which is odd to stay the least since I'm pretty sure the ignition wire now runs through the remote start brain... I have also switched relays.
