Default Started My 2wd To 4wd Today.

I started my 2wd to 4wd converstion today. I plan on doing it over a couple of day. I have very little time so it has to be done this way. Today I add my rebuilt front axle and add 2" lift to my 4.5" lift I already have for a total of 6.5" lift. Next I'm add the tranny and transfer case and drive shafts. Then I will be all done.

I did a '96 conversion one weekend a few years back. I had a buddy helping with the heavy stuff. Did kinda like you did a lift while I had the front torn apart. Just a homebuilt lift with F150 springs and a bastard pack out back. Only thing new was the shocks and they were monroes from the local AZ.

You need to combine all your threads into a build thread on the builds project side.

All is the same as 4wd, just no diff or front DS. It's a straight tube with knuckles on each end.

For a picture of a 2wd axle check out my photos. Will have more and better later.

Good job on your your front axle. I just felt better knowing its a 4X4. Would love to put a lift on ours except it my wife's daily driver and she's happy with it lower to the ground

They thought people that did not "need" 4wd would like them. These people also thought that station wagons were cool!!!

The only station wagon I'd have is a Subaru WRX STi totally rallied out, that would sweet, I could get my drivers license suspended real fast in one of those!!
