Stalling and wont shift out of 1st gear! Please help!

Default Stalling and wont shift out of 1st gear! Please help!

So 2 last night jeep got stuck in water and wouldn't start, replaced the starter and distributor and changed the oil in it and got it running. As I drive if you don't press the gas the rpm drop to 100 and stall. Also as you go it won't shift out of first gear but it goes into reverse. Anybody got any ideas?

check TPS, all sensors with a multimeter...
they don't like water.

cool, this page have some writeups for checking some sensors, basically it's the same in the xj, just look for the voltage rates of the xj sensors before

Ya so both my directional clutch plates are toast so looks like I need a new tranny....crap
