Stalling while driving down the road
Ok so Ive had this problem and kind of dealt with it but its getting worse. anytime I start my 1990 cherokee and start driving, about 30 seconds to a minute down the road when I let off the throttle my jeep stalls out and cuts off. I thought it was the IAC but I took it out and cleaned it (it was black but now its shiny) and its still doing it. also when it does die I have to put it in neutral and start it back then I have an idle of 1500-2500 which is way off normal. and it wont go back down until I put it in park turn the key off then crank it back up. any ideas?

I know you cleaned your IAC motor but try replacing it. I have cleaned alot of IAC's but didnt do any good. The solenoid still sticks! To me if you let your foot off the throttle the only thing controlling airflow is the IAC motor.

Once the IAC gets sticky, they don't always come back with cleaning. It does sound like an IAC issue.
