I'm looking for an OE replacement for my exhaust header pipe, or down pipe. Being in the rust belt I'm looking for stainless. Aluminized just doesn't hold up for more than a year or two. The XJ is a 1999. This is the only pipe I was able to find online, but the fitment only goes up to a 98? Shouldn't the 99 and 98 be interchangeable?

It might be best to find an exhaust shop near you who can do custom work. I imagine if you went to them with your old downpipe they can make one for you out of stainless. They also may be able to put in a flex piece that will take some of the strain off the header and maybe keep it from cracking.

That part is not stainless although it is listed as it is on the Quadratec site. I was able to cross reference it at my families store during the holidays. Like the other poster said, you are going to have to get one fabbed. The pipe is a little over 5 ft if I remember correctly.Originally Posted by KJamesJR

Well that’s a bummer. There is one exhaust shop somewhat close to me. I’ll have to check them out once spring hits. Stainless manifolds and and cat back systems exist. Kinda defeats the purpose welding them to aluminized parts. The weld alone cripples the alumanized coating at the joint.
