Most likely it either needs to be tightened or replaced. If it was a bad bearing in the alt, water pump, idler, etc. the squeeling would probably be constant or come and go as the engine rpm changed.

I forgot to mention, take a look at the ribbed side of the belt. If it's hard and cracked replace it.
Also if there is not a sticker with the belt diagram on it under the hood, make a sketch of if first. I didn't one time, and it's amazing how long it can take to figure out how it's supposed to go on.

Find where the belt has a fairly long straight section. Engine off - give it a twist - if you can twist it 90 degrees it's too loose. Should only twist about 45 degrees.
