Can you pinpoint the sound coming from the pump area or is it a steering component like a draglink or a tierod. I love beans and chili as much as the next guy but never fed any to my Jeep.

Get a buddy and open up the PS cap then have your buddy turn left and right on your steering. If your PS fluid is bubbling you have air in the system and prolly a leak somewhere. If nothing then climb underneath and have them turn back and forth again and check out the steering components.
