Default Squealing noise by distributor

I have an ocassional squealing on start up and goes away after driving for a few mins, i thought it was my serp. belt. This morn i popped the hood and found the noise is actually coming from the dist/ oil filter area. Any ideas?

uh... doubt it... probley just sounds like it is... change the belt and wiggle each pulley up and down to see if there is any play... if not then the belts just stretched...

start it and put your hand on the Dist...if the vibration matches the noise..Get a Re-man dist.

Your bearing inside is going bad.

x2 Possibly the bearing and not worth ripping it apart to change. I'd go with a junkyard special before buying a re-manufactured one just to make sure that's your problem. And if the JY one works, then leave it. Just my 2 cents though. I'm always looking to save a couple bucks so I can use it for something else Jeep related
