Squealing clutch need Help!!!
I have a 1996 XJ Sport 4.0l. When I push my clutch pedal in I hear a squealing sound. The sound starts immediately with the slightest touch of the clutch pedal. Sometimes it does not make the noise but more times it does then not. When I am driving I can hear the same sound but very low. also sometime i can shift gears and sometimes it wont go into gear. I was told it could the throw back bearing or the clutch slave cylinder. Is there any way I can be sure before I committ to droping the transmission? What are the symptoms when clutsh slave cylinder goes bad. I don't see any leaks and I checked the clutch master cyclinder and fluid and they good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
