yes times 2 and it could even include the front shaft joints....and well once one goes bad undetected it starts the usual vibrations and a u joint chain reaction starts....im still chasing noises n it all started with one.....now either the TC or spider gears in the front diff are shot.....im not sure where to start now because i have a limited so its the 242 and i dont have a SYE and im not sure if that is the issue or if its the spider gears.....when i put in 4 wheel i can feel it lock and i get dummy lights but its not a "lock" because as soon as i put it in drive its just zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz right away without even giving her throttle and i didnt see it because im driving but my brother swears one of the tires was spinning (we just had a snow storm hence front wheel spin) ....so how could that be say if the spider gears teeth were gone theres would be no way a wheel would be turning? I already have planned to swap in the 231 for just 4h and 4l but if the diff is the prob that needs to be fixed first and i dont want to order parts n then its not the problem... and im not sure if the 231 needs the SYE ...if anyone can make ne thing of this...or at least confirm whether im going in the right direction....and i need the 4wheel back in working order before i can move one with the long arm or TC what ever needs attention next.....and every weekend i cant go hit trails or im the lifted jeep stuck in a inch of snow about as useful as a cavalier, i just get more and more frustrated with damn jeep i let one shop work on it and its never been right since then...

 

maybe just get some electrical spray cleaner and sprayon brushes and alt coils wrap then let dry spray bearings with light pentrating oil and put back on and see if that doesthe trick. it might just be dirty brushes

 

as far as the alternator.....yeh i just carry a can in the jeep haha spray her down because sometimes it just will squeel forever....im just trying to push it as long as i can...because i know i just need to buy the high output im just trying to make it last until the suspension/TC/Diff problems get taken care of....its ok if its noisy because the alt doesnt do me jack if the 4wd is broke and the jeep doesnt move... its just the cashflow game and then trying to prioritize and fix everything in the right order because i can only afford one step at a time right now till things with job lay-off iron out......

 

Well, while in park or sitting still mine is quite. When I work my speed up then it starts squealing. I can rev in park and everything quite.

 

tensioner....see mine is tight tight tight at tention n still screams....in ur case sounds like once the motor is at driving rpms turning faster then it does at idle... the belt is stretching out because its completeing a full revolution faster and if its older belt the rubber isnt like brand new and lost its tinstle strength or how far the belt can actually stretch or expand ...and its going to expand more at faster speeds its rubber and over time it weakens and can stretch further then when it was new....check out your tentioner if the problem remains i would say ur belt its just worn weaker after god knows how long its been on there unless you have already replaced.......other than if u had already thats the only logical reason its happening if its not the tentioner the belt is possibly just worn out and needs a fresh one.....inexspensive and easy to install....

 

ive got to get some feedback on this TC/Diff not sure where to start problem i have going on here.
