Default squeal question

I just changed my ac compressor due to clutch being locked up. Anyways i am getting a squeal from the alternator when the clutch first cycles on, it does eventually go away. when it does squeal the alt. guage drops below 14 but higher then 9. dont know what it is or could be? maybe i dont have belt tight enough there probably around a 1/2inch of play maybe a little more with belt.

Also i took the electric fan out due to it vibrating really bad it literally sounded like it was going to take off and hit something. Anyways i watch the guage and it never goes about 210. I do plan on replacing it but havent got around to it.

Info on jeep its a 99 4.0 with 234K classic edition.

THanks for any info/help!

Tighten up your belt and the squeal will go away.

Might be good to get the fan set straight. Easy job, I got mine from a wrecker. Cruising I don't need it, but heavy traffic or hill climbing is another story.

Oh, and I hear with a vented hood you may not need it.

ok thanks for the Info, I can put my old 1 back in, it'll just be really noisy and vibrate the heck outta everything. Or is this normal for the stock electric fan.

No, they run smooth. You just might want to deal with it though. On my Ford when the fan went bad it started blowing it's fuse, I don't know what my "brany"Jeep might do.

Total long shot but you don't want it it eat your radiator either!
