first two rules in trouble shooting cars is:

1. is it getting gas

2. is it getting fire

i always check gas first, i go rent a fuel pressure gauge at autozone and screw it on the port at the fuel rail and see if i have correct pressures. if so move on to number two.

sounds like you got fire so im wondering if you didnt get bad gas, like water in it or something....

checking for fire i always pull any spark plug out and hold it to the block while someone turns vehicle over and see if spark is coming from the plug.

once you figure out what its not getting gas or spark you can go on from there.

fuel pump comes on and sounds like it pumps up to pressure...it is new (pump and sending unit) second tank through it. it happened to be a pump for a 13 gallon tank and i have a 20. i would think it would have to be a lot of water to get up to that inlet. i read somewhere about this same kind of issue but i cant find it. the thing i specificly remember reading was the high rpms when it did restart. it was like 1/2 throttle or more. i still dont have it home yet so i cant test anything quite yet just lookin for anyone with a similar problem. thanks
