Default spring falls out of upper perch

heres the pic the coil spring came loose and the bumb stop held the spring from falling out. should i make tabs or brakets at the top but then will the spring still allow the tire to drop?

meh, forgettabouttit.

mine used to do that all the time, with short arms. as long as you have coil tabs installed on the axle to hold the coil in, don't worry about it.

now, as long as the bump stop doesn't fall out.

but i've never worried about mine. now i've got 8 inch coils and 36's, so there's no chance of it happening to me anymore.

as long as the coil doesnt go past the bumpstop, your fine.

you could do straps, that way the shock doesn't top out and gets damaged.

or look into coil overs. they're for sale on pirate from time to time.

Straps aren't really expensive. When you flex does your coil fall on the ground? If not, you have nothing to worry about.

lmao i've seen someone use a seat belt for a limiting strap before, the buckle and all, its was crafty, he could byckle and un-buckle his LS but it didn't last long.... but my input, if your worried about it limiting straps are an easy way to go and like stated above the can help protect your shocks from getting damaged

ok well my bump stop keeps the spring from fallin out it did fall out on me the other night in the dark i put it back in thats me in the dark doin it in the pic. i was just doin donuts and went down a hill and it popped on on the ground. i need another 3 or 4 inchs i was thinkin of welding on some tube to the bump stop to make it longer?? but then i wont goin in so far until i hit the bumb stop. i kno the straps are cheap but i dont like to limit my flex.

yeah, you could weld on some tube to the bumpstops. but make sure you can still get your coils on and off without having to drop the axle just to do it.

also, make sure your axle doesn't hang off your shock when your shock is fully extended.

x2 on the shock^^^
I would weld tube onto the end of the bumpstop.
Limiting straps would limit down travel, and down travel is what you want the most. The tube welded onto the bump stop would limit up travel, but not much. Just make sure you do it right.

Edit: alhough you may need limiting straps so you don't mess up your shock, like previously stated.
