Speedometer help....

ok i was driving home the other day and my speedometer messed up. the gas and oil, rpm all still work just not the mph gauge what could be the problem for this. how can i fix it?

to tell you the truth i dont know. i think its the sensor. i got autozone to read the code and i got this.
P0500. the ECM says fault in vehicles speed sensor circuit.

check the cable and the gear.

on mine i checked the gears and evrything was all good so i figured i was gonna have to replace the cluster bit i notice a loose wire on the back side of the engine it pulled right out of the connector, spiced it together now it works great.
