I have a 92 xj laredo and the speedo worked fine until one day i was cruising on the highway and it went to zero and hasnt worked since. Im assuming its my vehicle speed sensor on the transfer case? Is my assumption the most likely cause or is there something else its more likely to be? Its a fifty dollar part so I want to make sure. Thanks

 

your on the right track, it could also be a split in the wire though.... its easy enough to check but pull the speedo gear out of the t-case and check it for missing teeth or etc... i've had one actually lock up on me and sheared a nice pie cut out of my speedo gear all together
