hey guys, i ripped apart my sppedo cable because it was not working along with the odometer...i have never seen a speedo cable come in two pieces before, firtst time for everything i guess , n e ways i have no idea what parts to buy an i thoought u guys could maybe help...


I have no idea what this is, the cable ran into it an then out the oter side...

 

yes it is sir.

your jeep came w a two piece assembly I believe part of it is for cruise control mechanism as well, if you have cruise that is,......

call dealer they have a part number for it (it will be different than what is stamped on the one you have taken out)......look at morris4x4.com and rockauto.com for replacements etc....

thanx it does help, now i know wat it is...do i absolutely have to use this wit the speedo cable?, i have a one piece out of a jeep commanche, and if that spped sensor is for cruise only i dont mind not having cruise

ok i changed the speedo cable to a one piece from the commanche, the speedo and tac worked but none of the other gauges did except the battery gauge...so i guess im gonna need the original cable then?

 

Today (after just fixing my speedometer) decided to change the regular bulbs in the dash for red ones. I thought i'd be smart and disconnect the speedo cable from the speed sensor instead of all the way back at the T case. I ended up searing off both of the threaded ends on the speed sensor with one turn. I've called about 5 auto parts stores, dealer & two junk yards and nobody knows what i'm talking about or can't get any. I checked the links in this page but none turned out what I need. A few similar ones but not the one I need. Any more ideas?
