Speed dometor does not work!?!?

Default Speed dometor does not work!?!?

I was driving it yesterday and it was reading how fast i was going and now. its not doing anything i do not know how fast i am going. i need help asap. is it the sensor, fuse, wire? anything that i can get fixed like now?

Your right, it could be anything, check the VSS first.

your cable prolly broke...... you will need to crawl under it around the driver door area.. and look up at your t-case (between the t-case itself and the frame-rail) there will be a cable that runs into the side of the t-case, there should also be a retaining clip that keeps it from spinning (looks like a "Y" shape), remove it and inspect...
also when you remove it inspect your "speedometer gear" (lack of proper words) it should pull out easily and inspect the teeth for splits or breaks (made of plastic)

how do you remove the cable from the other end? tear your dash apart?

i figured it out it works now i had to take my entire "dash devise" out and the cable behind it came disconnected. everything is fine now free is good

perfect! thanks. mine cuts in and out, and its driving me crazy. plus the odometer isnt spinning all the time, so thats no good.

yep anytime. but yeah all i saw is it just snaps in because there is no way in threading it in.
