My 97 SE doesn't have em either. The wiring is there behind the dash and I'm assuming it runs back to the tailgate where they usually mount, but my tailgate doesn't have holes or any mounts.
I just got a pair of 6x9's, got some boxes for them and pointed them inward from the tailgate. They sound way better than any 6" speaker and if u wanted to be Dj at the tailgate party just point the 6x9's out the back and open the two front doors and you got all that you need!
