where did you get those e3 plugs and how much were they per plug
did you notice a difference from those e3 in mileage gain or not really?

yes, 1-2 mpg better, ive tried 3 different kinds of plugs and these showed the most results. smoother idle, quicker start, quicker throttle response. They are 6-7 bucks a piece where i am at. they sell them at oreilley, auto zone, advanced auto. i'd call to see if they have them in stock.

From pretty extensive experience with 00-01, I'd recommend NGK.

84-99 : Champion Coppers
00-01 : NGK

well the previous guy said that for pre-1999 was one plug, 00-01 xj's are a different plug, just wonder if those e3's work good in your 97, but maybe not to good in the 2000 like mine

this is the reason i started this thread....different plugs work in different year jeeps

love this xj forum

00-01 = distributorless ignition I believe, that's why the plugs are different.

They make the E3's for your jeep though. They are going to give the same results. buddy of mine with an 00 wrangler has them, i've tested these on 5 different engines, same results. so i doubt it matters if yours is 00 or not.
