Yep.

Nothing fancy or expensive... Jeeps love copper-core Champions.

For now.

Those plugs are too cold... they won't be hot enough to clean themselves in that 4.0.

Sorry, but you will be changing them soon enough.

Use Champions in a Jeep 4.0. Chrysler products are very picky about fluids and consumable parts. OEM works best for them. I've learned from using Busch Platinum Tip plugs in a Toyota and 2 different Jeeps. They don't work worth a $hit!!! They defintiely are not worth the over inflated price you pay for the Bosch name written on them. Go with CHampions and if you just don't like Champions for some reason or another, I've always had good luck with Autolites.

I know.

The Bosch Platinums that are available for the 4.0 are too cold.

Dozens of 4.0's coming to our dealership after failing emissions with high HC's... or worse, coming on a tow truck because they won't stay running.

We call the customer with an estimate for Champion plugs, and they argue about how great their $8-a-piece platinums are.

New Champions... problem fixed.

I like to run OEM plugs but

I don't think it is a heat rang thing

it is more likely that the platinums are requiring more ignition power than the jeep coil can supply

what year jeeps is this happening to

I've seen a few Renix, but mostly HO engines with distributors (without coil packs). The coil-pack engines were equipped with platinums from the factory and continue to do fine with replacement platinums.
