hello all, i drove my jeep this morning then it started to run rough, (backfiring), then it would go away then come back everytime i pushed the gas. then the jeep just died on me. i opened the hood and noticed one of the spark plug wires had fallen off the cap!! it was just hanging down from the spark plug. maybe i didnt snap it back on all the way when i took it off a couple of days ago. anyway now the truck wont start. what do you think went bad????

i changed the pickup sensor thing under the distributor cap. and pulled the spark plug that wasnt connected and cleand the carbon with a brush, still wont fire. can this damage my newish ignition coil? not sure what to do next please help, and thank you

To start, Tell us the year and engine size. What work have you done recently to it? How was it running before this problem?

1995 4.0, and i had just changed the oil sending unit . few months back i changed the cps, pcm, coil, rotor, d-cap.

it ran really good, no issues till today

oh and strangely enough i forgot to mention that the bottom of the header broke off right above where the exhaust bolts to it ,yesterday . i guess it was old and rusted lol not sure if that is related
