My emergency flashers would flash every time I pushed my left tun signal until it clicked. If I held it down partially, like you would when changing lanes, it would work ok. I finally got tired of it and replaced the switch. Today, when driving home from work, I followed an XJ that did the exact same thing. Every time he would turn left, it appeared he had his hazards on. When he turned right, it worked fine. I wonder, is this a common issue?

Changing the switch was not a big deal.

Anyone know of a write up on rebuilding these multifunction switches. I took mine apart and a spring abount an inch long fell out of it. I've cleaned all of the contacts and moving parts. I have dielectric grease and some white lithium grease ready to put on it. I've mocked it up and figured out where the small spring goes but can't for the life of me figure out where the bigger sping goes. Help!
