Default Something is up with my trans? maybe?

What's up guys, My 1992 XJ, 4.0 Auto is having some issues, and I can't really figure it out. When I'm driving at speed, and I hit a bump, I feel something move, and it feels like my trans goes out for a sec. It feels like the trans is moving, which is leading me to believe it's the trans mount. Only thing is that I went under the truck and I couldn't move the trans at all? Also, say I hit a bump and the trans moves, I will be at a light sometimes, and it feels like my trans is cutting in and out, and it even sometimes stalls? WTH! What could this be? I checked my motor mounts as well, and they're good to go.Trans fluid is good, oil is good, I'm not over heating, completely new front suspension. This is weird, any suggestions would be great. BTW, this is a jersey daily driver, so no 4x4ing or rocking done in this baby.

Sure it's not the engine cutting out for a split second?

Check out post 10 in my link below. Do the connector refreshing described there and be sure the harness has room to move.

I say loose connection. A transmission "going out". Do the RPMs go up?

My thoughts exactly. I have seen more than one of those trans connections corroded, loose, or retracting from the socket.

I don't have an RPM Gauge on my XJ, just a speedo and gas gauge. I mean when I'm driving on the highway and I hit a large bump, I feel something shake and it feels like the RPMs are either going crazy or totally stopping, I can't really tell. Possibly the stalling is from bad gas, i put dry gas in there, and haven't had a problem.

ahhh I didn't even see that. Gonna try that, then I'll post back up if it gives me issues still. Could the engine cut out on the highway and then turn right back on? Strangeeee

Yup. Check the routing of the CPS wires AFTER refreshing/checking the trans connectors.

I've had it happen to me a few years back. hit a bump and rpms went down and came back. Finally hit something and engine cut out. Used hand brake and put hazards right away to pull off busy highwAy. Started right back up and never had the issue again to this day. Im thinking it was the electrical system. But since then I've done new battery clamps blah blah blah so im not surprised my jeep runs strong

You have quite a few different problems from the OP. You should start a new thread to work them out.

I still didnt check the wiring, because it's been about -15 degrees out. I drove it today, and when i idle, i can hear something rattling like it's loose, and it seems like my trans is sticking or like a drive shaft is rattling or something. I have no clue, i drove it, and it was fine, then it cut out of me, mid acceleration. Engine turned right off. I could barely get it to the side of the road with no power steering. It came right back on when i turned the ignition. Then i drove to a stop light, and the trans was going in and out and I had to throw it in neutral.I think im gonna have to junk this thing...
