something grinding or hanging up?
Hey guys, got a question, sorry if i'm in the wrong section or duplicating a post. i have a 1993 jeep cherokee with the 4.0, 2 door, and the police package (upgraded suspension, extended idle etc.) i started noticing what i at first thought was my tires rubbing when i took a turn. started paying closer attention to it, and discovered that it only seems to happen when i'm turning either direction from either slow speeds or stopped, goes away mid turn if i let off the throttle. transmission was serviced shortly before i got the truck, have a shop receipt from previous owner. making a wider turn doesnt seem to have any effect on the sound. the jeep does have a death wobble, but only between 50-60 mph, goes away outside of those speeds (i bought a Moog track bar to hopefully fix that issue.) i've been told that my ball joints and tie rod ends arent in terrible shape, but should be replaced before i get new tires. its really hard to tell exactly where the sound is coming from. i thought it was coming from the front, i had a friend drive it, and he said it sounded like it came from the rear. thoroughly confused here.
