alright so today I did an oil change and filter and in the process of doing so I broke my oil pressure sending unit. the sensor was so old and brittle, it just cracked in half.. so luckily auto zone had the part and I had to swap it out. next I did the transfer case fluid which took all of 10 minutes. I then sprayed a lot of the under carriage with black spray paint to prevent any rust. then I did degreaser in the engine bay and washed it all out. my street is now black from all the oilly gook.. after that I fixed up my front doors that the locker was broken on. usually when younopend the doors they'd just freely flap in the wind. everyone takes for granted the little hinges that lock the door in 3 positions when you open it. but now my jeep has them lol.
I'm really glad I changed the oil because although it looked clean. the dip stick is hard to read and I could never really tell how much oil was in the truck. well I only got about 7/8s of a 5 quart jug when I drained it. the truck is suppose to take 6 quarts and i noticed a little.tapping noise today while running. now that I changed the oil and filter that noise is gone. she was definaly low on oil.
this week I'm ordering a few parts and my next day off I'll do.em all. I need to buy new radiator hoses. mine aren't leaking but seem old and brittle. rather change them then spring a leak. then I need to get a new fuel.pump assembly which consists of dropping the tank. and lastly the biggest pain in the *** the axle seal. which I'm going to change both of then while I have the front diff cracked open. after that. the truck will be 110% and ready for whatever I can throw at it.
I'm an **** bastard and a lot.of the work I did I probably didn't need to do but I like knowing all my fluids are clean and the truck is in perfect running condiion
here's how she sits now with all the bumpers bed lined And my wheels plastic dipped.
