Default Sold the Jeep

Hadn't had many problems with the Jeep since the power steering pump blew-expect for the knock in the engine and this morning the the oil pressure was at 0 with the check gauge light and the battery reading 9. Made it to work (was on the freeway when I saw them and the light) and turned the Jeep on an hour after I got there... the lights were still on..
I had been looking for a newer vehicle for a while and made the jump to a Chevy Sonic. I was able to trade in my Jeep for $1500.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone here for the info over the years!
Take care.

No matter how long you've owned an XJ, you have Cherokee in your blood. You'll always feel the pull to come back if you get rid of one. I've owned mine for 16 years and have zero thoughts of getting rid of it.

It was probably just the water pump or torque converter bolts causing the knock.

0 oil pressure was the sending unit.

Enjoy the Sonic.

Could have been, but I was sick of taking it to a shop once a month for repairs. Brakes were going, transmission seemed funny as it was always a HARD shift into Drive and Reverse. I was ready for a new vehicle. Plus commuting 30+ miles one way with it didn't make sense due to gas cost. Oh well, maybe one day when the Liberty/Compass/Patroit are replaced I will looking into jeep again.
and thanks!!

My first vehicle was a 94 Toyota pick up. Put $600 into the engine and no lie it blew up before I made it out of the driveway. Sold it for $1,500 and bought a 1989 jeep Cherokee. Put $0 into the motor and drive it for a year and a half. **** started to break so I sold it. Bought a 1999 jeep and had a blown head. Bought a 1995 jeep for $200, tore it apart and took the head off and sealed it into my 99. Sold the 95 for $350. Put about $800 into my 99's motor and it runs like a corvette. And I'm only 17. Jeep blood runs deep

I was actually kidding with my post, which is hard to convey over the internet. But it does seem like whenever an owner posts a list of problems like you had, that's what many people post for a cause.

I believe, like you did, that your Jeep needed an engine NOW. You're lucky to have gotten $1,500 out of it. You're lucky to even have gotten it to the dealership.

That new car warranty and great gas mileage will be a plus.

Come back to us someday.
