So my wife sunk the XJ in a river!!!!
This is true! And I have found a new love of drifting. I have a 1990 S13 Silvia too and it's an absolute blast. But there's something about going through 400 dollars worth of tires everytime I go to the track thats got me really missing moab and wheeling!
Ok so to kinda bring back an old thread. I finally got all the parts and time to fix the jeep the other day, damn typhoons and earthquakes. But any how I replaced both O2 sensors, all the plugs, and changed the trans filter and fluid. She runs a TON better but still not great. It kinda feels like the tranny is slipping, Should I flush it? I heard once from someone to never flush a chrysler though thats why I didn't. And she still idels kinda bad, and when you rev her up and let off she kinda has a hard time catching idle. Throttle position sensor???? I pulled all the sensors and computer out and cleaned all the conections, but none of them were still wet or looked bad??? I don't know where too go next with it???? What do you guys think????
I would suspect the ECU then. Have you looked at your crankshaft position sensor and your idle speed sensor (probably not the right name for this part) just to be able to exclude those from the culprits?
I hit a huge puddle in my Celica and partially shorted out the ecu. I couldn't even drive the thing, but it would still crank a couple of times. I ended up knocking one whole region of the board out but the unit still "worked". If you have no other option for a ecu to borrow before purchasing a replacement then I would at least open it up and look for corrosion on the board. Its real easy to see that stuff, lol.
