Talking so im really slow

well for the most part my jeep has been only offroad and a couple days ago i took her to the gas station and wow im slow!!! and holy crap my tires were soo loud ( but that did not really bother me) its a 4 banger with stock axels that have 4.88 gears and im running 38.5 super swamper boggers. am i so slow just because of my gearing? or is the little 4-banger not strong enough to pull the big tires? it does fine offroad(but in offroad im not going that fast) so i kinda just wanna know what is up with it
cuz i really dont think im gonna get on the freeway with it, i dont think ill be able to catch up with everybody

Small engine, small gear, big tire it all doesn't add up to a highway flyer that's for sure.

I read that a d35 should only have 33's as the max tire size. Anyway, as long as it's not your DD... Those are some huge tires though.

I had a 81 toyota pickup with 38's Super swampers and the thing was great off road but on the highway in regular gear it was a slug. I blamed it on the 4 banger under the hood. And the steering was terrible because of the withed of the tires And yea I had to scream over my tire noise. So I put a loud stereo in it. other than that it was all good times in the swamp

Awesome flares, look on the bright side, no speeding tickets. I can only hit about 60 safely and so what our stuff is built to creep .

I think I said it before but I like the look of it with the chop and what not. And yeah hugh tires low gears and 4cl = not to fast on the highway.

I would think re-gearing would be a better first choice.

The extra power would help but so would some dada 60's with some more gearing.

yeah well if i get bigger axels then im stuck with regular gearing, and i really like my 4.88(it just sucks because its in a dana 35)
i think im just gonna find a one ton truck and swap all the drive tran, maby even the steering box(ill be able to turn with my fingers)

because i think ill be able to find one for pretty cheap(its better than buying the axels by themself)
