I was driving to krogers today and it was raining so i was turning on and off the wipers as i needed them when all the sudden smoke started to role out of the steering colum, where the turn signal/wipers enter. it reeked i know somewthing was gettin too hot. i shut off the wipers and pulled into chuck e cheese and all was fine, sounds crazy, i know. any thoughts?

 

wiring short, something grounded out, part apart the column cover and take a good look around. see if something melted? start there, good luck.

 

Disconnect the negative side of the battery before you start messing with it. 12v can light you up too and it doesn't feel good.
