2001 Cherokee Sport. Still trying to find a 'small evap leak'. There is a video on Youtube where they guy says the "throttle plate MUST be open". Below is an image where he has stuck a screwdriver someplace to open this 'plate'. Is this really needed and if so - is this location someplace I can just see without removing other hoses etc. Thanks
The throttle cable attaches to the what he is moving there. Open the hood look at the throttle body and it will be obvious what to hold open. If you've got the know how to do a smoke test this should be easy as eating pancakes.
Thanks for the quick reply. I am learning as I go. Truth be told - I've looked/read a lot about these smoke test techniques and this guy is the ONLY one who mentioned this throttle plate...
Went to the shop before the holidays as they have the compressor and the only place we saw smoke was the leak detection pump filter - which I later learned is supposed to leak smoke. I replaced that filter since it was in pretty bad shape after nearly 20 years - but the CEL came on again a day or so later.
Actually - I had some blueberry pancakes this morning :-)
