ok, this is really boggling my mind... my cherokee is sluggish when i take off from a stopped position... i have to give it a little more throttle to push it untill it reaches a certain speed, then it is fine. i changed the breaks cuz i thought maybe the breaks were sticking, they needed changing anyhow, didnt help... there is no vibration or anything like that. there is a slight jump when i reach about 15-20 mph, but its barely noticeable, it feels like something is letting it out of a bind. please help.

it would help if you listed more info, strait 6, 4banger, auto/manual 4x4 2x4 lift/stock. ect ect. But if you have an auto try manually shifting it and see if that helps, if it does then it is a TCU problem or a kick down cable problem. if not then we ned to look into other issues

Also, When this problem started, the check engine light came on...At first the light would go off periodically..then the problem would stop..But the engine light is on constantly ..so my problem is consistent..A hose? A screen?
