Slow on takeoff...

I have a 95, 4.0l Cherokee and ever since i got it it takes off really slow in drive however in 1-2 it gets it. I changed all the solenoids which did absolutely nothing. I've seen a few posts on here with thesame problem but it doesn't seem that they found solutions or if they did they didn't post said solutions.. I was thinking it could be the trans speed sensor or the throttle position sensor.. I need some feedback. Could one of those did my problem or y'all think it's something else?

I have experienced this

Torque convertor?

throttle position sensor

That's what I'm thinking but what brought you to that conclusion?

also now the Truck won't start, sometimes. When this happens it doesn't make Any noise but has power to everything else. Yesterday it wouldn't start after we got gas. I changed gears between drive and neutral and after about 45 minutes of trying that and checking all the fuses and tapping on the starter and i tied it in neutral again and it started... I'm not sure if both problems are related but this one seems like a neutral safety switch...

Me too.

the one and only thing that fixed my problem that i was experiencing for years.
tried the trans control fuse, then the trans control unit, then even replaced the whole transmission. still had to manually shift.

then someone on here told me to adjust my TPS, but i had a parts jeep with a new one in it, so i swapped it out. very easy job, so why not. and that is what fixed it. it's been fine ever since.

i was baffled too. doesn't hurt to try it. it's a lot cheaper and easier than getting to the torque converter, which also sounds like it could be the problem, but these jeeps are usually much simpler than that.

as for your other problem, it "could" be the nss.

Facebook is deep cover site operated by aliens seeking information on humans prior to global invasion. My theory. Or at least an over abundance of information offered by members that can be exploited by humans living in the dark side.
Just an opinion. You are welcome to disagree.

Facebook will not get you the NSS or TPS you need.
Clean the NSS, it will be a pita.
IF not successful, get the TPS, $75 cnd, NAPA, half that$ in USA.

thanks guys... I will be cleaning my nss and replacing my tps on Monday. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

Update: i adjusted my nss and that took care of my starting problem butt i took out out and apart and thoroughly cleaned it while it was off. The problem i gaff with the slow takeoff is another story. After the nss the problem persisted so i changed the throttle position sensor and it also did nothing to improve the driveability so i guess tomorrow i change my transmission speed sensor. That's the last electrical component left having to do with thetransmission so hopefully that's it. What do y'all think?

Final update

So, I changed my Transmission speed sensor today. My problem is gone, however I don't believe that the sensor was actually faulty as the new part came with a different quick connector and the wire to splice in so i did it. Theold wires were exposed at the connector by like half an inch and said wires were crossed. Any which way, my problem is solved and my XJ's got it's balls back so hooray for me! https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.che...6d9c3cde2a.jpg
The one i took off

That was likely the whole issue for sure. the wiring and connectors.
