If it's just fractions of an inch in difference then theres no real world difference. Thats like the difference between a 35" made by general vs. a 35" from bfg

radar guns have to be calibrated regularly. just because the radar trailer said 45 it doesn't necessarily mean you were doing 45. check your speedo with some sort of gps to get a true speed.

Ulysseys (sp?) Speedometer. It has a cool hud feature where it'll display your speed on your windshield with the phone laying on the dash

Yes, you have a point, but you're talking about a 235 tire with the same profile on two different size rims. The 235 on a sisxteen inch rim will be an inch larger in diameter than the 235 on a fifteen inch rim granted. 235/75R16 is one inch in diameter larger than a 235/75R15...

The number 235 is the width of the tread in millimeters. The profile value, in this case 75, is a percentage of that width that gives you the sidewall height of the tire in millimeters. 235 multiplied by .75 equals 176.25. Since there are two sidewalls in each diameter, you multiply that value by two and get 352.5. Now you convert millimeters to inches by dividing 352.5 by 25.4 (since there are 25.4 mm in an inch) and you get 13.878" (rounded to the thousandths place). This value is how much sidewall height this tire has in inches. It is constant regardless of the rim diameter.
Now the next step is what gives you a full inch of difference. You must add the rim size to the last value obtained in inches. 13.878" + 15" = 28.878"... 13.878" + 16" = 29.878"...
As you can see, the 235/75R15 is actually a 29x9.25xR15 and the 235/75R16 is actually a 30x9.25xR16.
There is a full inch of difference in diameter between these two tires.
