Default XJ Valve Cover

the valvle cover on my 2000 XJ is aluminum, and has a crack in it from an over-tightened fastener. I was looking for replacements on eBay ans such, and they show a black steel cover as being the one for e 2000 XJ 0 are they interchangeable? Which should it be?
thanks guys!

Sounds like the one you have is aftermarket. All I've ever seen is black...

Same. Go by a u pull and just grab one. Maybe 10-15$ for one there.

Good idea. Valve covers don't exactly "wear out"...
