Default Slow acceleration from idle in "drive"

Hi everyone, I got a 1996 4.0 automatic. Recently my jeep developed a problem where it accelerates considerably slower than normal after coming to a complete stop. My engine will rev normal and sound normal but acceleration will be abnormally slow until around 45 (km/h) then all is good until a stop. If I manually put my auto tranny shifter into (1,2) then take off it performs exactly how it should be. Oil and tranny fluid are good. Filters are good. Ive been pointed in direction of the TPS being faulty. Looking for some ideas and advice before I work on it tomorrow morning. Thank you.

Before you spend money, adjust the kick-down cable. See this post.

TPS? I'm skeptical of that being the problem. It's easy to test. A multimeter is your friend. Instructions on testing it can be found with a search here.

I'm with Mark, The TPS is performing the same whether you're in "D" or manually shifting it. You'd have the same issues.

Fixed my problem. Ended up being my throttle cable needing adjusted. Took 30 seconds after a week.... Thanks for all those that helped and hopefully anyone who has the same problem reads this. I also read that adjusting it even if you dont have any problems will help with shifts points and smoothness if experiencing these issues.
