Any got this kit and if so, what do you think of it? I am looking for a lift that is just a little bit higher than stock. Enough to run 30" tires. I drive a lot on the highway and park in a lot of city parking garages so I don't want to get to high. But, I am trying to find out if it is worth it to go only two inches on a budget lift, or wait and save up for a 3" full leaf kit. I have heard that the 3" kits actually give you about 4" which concerns me a little.
Anybody running a good budget boost that you would recommend?

well my budget will grow the longer I wait. My concern is more about drivability, on road manners and city usability. I think my rear springs are ok. They don't appear to be sagging but the jeep does have 140k on it.

I know I will probably want to go higher down the road. I really want to bullet proof the rest first though. This is the other reason for the low lift.
I bought TerraFlex through Summit Racing. I think it was in the neighborhood of $138.99 or something like that before shipping. Summit customer service was great, TerraFlex not so much. I did wind up replacing my rear leafs after removing them and looking at the condition. I got the replacement springs through Quadratec. They were $99.99 plus shipping. They did no come with the bushings.
If you are only looking to put 30's on it you will be fine with the 2" lift. I went with the TerraFlex because the rear shackles are greaseable and it does come with a lifetime warranty. What year is your Cherokee? Is is a standard or automatic?

Thanks everyone. The jeep is a 99 automatic with about 140k miles. It used to be a police jeep and does need some work. I want to fix all the possible drivetrain issues before I lift it but I will need new tires before I can get to everything. I scored a full set of 5 canyon wheels off of a TJ and I don't want to just put the 235 street tires back on it.
Should I just go ahead and get new rear springs and a bb? That brings the price up almost as much as a cheap 3 inch lift. I guess you do get what you pay for though.

That is a tough call. If the springs are iffy, you will not be happy, and you will just be replacing them down the road anyway. The instructions from my kit pretty much said all jeeps are different and there may be some challenges with each installation (I am paraphrasing). I got an alignment after installing the kit even though the instructions said you should not need to. I also had to relocate the bolt hole for the trac bar (the instructions did say that that might need to be done). You did say that you park in parking garages so you may not want to go too high anyway.

This is my DD too. I do like how it turned out. I also replaced the sway bar end links front and back. It handles well on the road. I do notice the bumps in the road a bit more, but I did get the heavy duty springs. I am pleased all the way around. I will try to see if I can get a picture posted later today for you.

From my experience id suggest a cheap spacer and shackle, if your springs are iffy and you plan on going bigger in the future you'll be happy you have the shackle and spacer. Throw the spaced and shackle in, let the stock leafs wear out then by the time they do you can decide to buy new stock ones or larger ones for a bigger lift. At that point you could add 3 inch leafs and 3 inch coils giving you 5 inches. I started out the opposite with bigger coils and leafs, now im gonna add a spacer and shackle for a couple more inches, as long as the parts are installed properly you shouldn't experience any driveability issues.

I agree go with 2" spacer and shackles and then later you can go bigger and add it together.
I have a 2" spacer/shackle lift waiting to go on mine, might try to fit some 31"s or some 32"s with some trimming. My 30"s fit fine at stock height. Has a bit to do with how much your suspension has sagged over the years.

That is a good idea. So when I am ready to replace my 30" tires, I can add 3" to the lift and get 32" tires. I like it. Plus that will give me time to fix all the stuff that needs fixin before I go to high.
