A simple question
Is there someone out there with a stock 98 XJ on OEM size tires that could measure the distance from the ground to the bottom edge of the window(A), inline with the rear hub? Also the same sort of measurement on the front but to where the fender folds over to the hood(B)?
My reasoning for this is that I am thinking about a lift and I am just trying to figure out if my recently acquired XJ has been lifted at all. I suspect that it has had the leaf springs replaced, but the front is factory. It would be a shame if I went out and paid good money for a lift kit, only to find out it has already been done
Thanks

Interesting picture. Never seen that method before.
I can tell you right now how to check lift if you still have fender flares:
Center of hub on front wheel to bottom of fender flare should be 17"
Center of hub on rear wherl to bottom of fender flare should be 17.5"

Yes the OEM flares are there, but they are not in the greatest of condition. They should be close enough to tell me if the front is sagging or the rear is lifted though, thanks
Rear measures 18.5", front comes in at 17.5". Looks like the previous owners just put stiffer spring in it. Thankfully both sides are close, within an 8th of an inch so no sag, AKA XJ lean

Just noticed you aren't that far away from me, I am just east of Brockville, only 2 hours away with a coffee stop at Mallorytown

I'm going to use this to figure out how much negative left my jeep has acquired over the years.

Must be something in the water man... the ground water around there is nasty sulphur and I shouldn't really share my opinion of the municipal operation (worked with the Township a few years back on a project). That far downstream the Great Lakes/St Lawrence River though I'm not sure how much work can be done on the water to make it really a good idea to ingest.
I do love Riverside-Cedar park and the McIntosh Inn though. I'm up there every couple of Septembers for a giant Scout camp. The staff at both are great!

The loyalist is long gone, and so is the sign. The McDs/Gas station/Video store/Car wash (it is a Mac Ewens station by the way) is there now. The loyalist was the first bar that I went to regularly, studio 231. So named because it was on the corner of the #2 and 31.
To give you an idea of how old I am I use to camp at Riverside-Cedar Park when I was a kid, but they were two separate provincial parks at the time. That would be back in the early to mid 70s. There is/was a pond in the upper east corner that had a monster snapping turtle in it. If the pond is still there the turtle probably is too

Ahh. I made the mistake of staying at the Loyalist in 2011. That whole place was creepy. The "pool" was something straight outta Jurrasic Park II.
Yes, I think I've seen that turtle. Probably gets real fat off of geese.
Yeah it's a MacEwen. So it moved up to the corner huh? Whole kit and kaboodle? What's in that spot now? (And do they finally have diesel?)

Mac Ewens does have diesel now, and the old building is still in the old spot, they just had the grand opening of the new location on the 27th of last month.
The Loyalist was a happening spot back in the 80s and early 90s, but it went down hill fast not long after that. Right around the time it went under new ownership. It change hands a few times before going under for good.
