Default Simple Question

My 02' Grand Cherokee Laredo is not starting correctly. First it has trouble kicking over and sometimes I can pump gas to kick it over. Sometimes it wont kick over at all. It doesn't have a clicking sound more of a buzz and humming sound. The sound is coming from the lower part of the jeep it sounds like when standing at the hood. What does it sound like could be wrong??

Battery or starter are sure possible, but don't overlook dirty/loose/corroded connections.

Agreed with the others, get the battery tested and check out the connectors and cabling before condemning the solenoid. Nothing worse than spending money and discovering the problem's still there.
