Left signal light was flashing to fast, now it is okay and flashes fine....but, the problem I am having it is making a grinding noise, stops when I signal left. Then it makes a clicking noise after I am done signal then noise returns...

Sounds like possibly a bad relay.

Clarify your description a little bit, what is making a grinding noise?

The grinding noise is likely caused by the relay oscillating between open and closed very quickly. This could be caused by a load issue on the circuit, a malfunctioning multi-function switch, or a bad relay. I'm not sure where to find the flasher relay on a '98 but if you follow the sound I'll bet you can narrow it down.

I couldn't have said it any better. Touch each relay and you'll feel it grinding. Easiest way I've found to do it.

Possible short causing the relay to be faulty. Are the indicator lights flashing normally?

Yup, flasher relay is beside the headlight **** behind the knee panel.
As mentioned above. Are all of your indicator lights flashing?

Ahhh yeah. My coworker's Neon does the same thing. It's that high-quality Chrysler electrical stuff!

The noise is coming from the relays for sure. The reason this happens in the first place is that the spots in the turn signal lever are worn down. Ultimately this part needs to be replaced. My 99 does it from time to time if the lever gets stuck between two positions. I just give it a tap and keep driving.
