I used goo gone, pb blaster and WD-40 and an old credit card to get mine off. then you might need a little fine course rubbing compound and gently rub the line out it will most likely leave behind. here is a picture of mine without the trim.
Hmm interesting. Looks good! You have the same exact wheels as me!

To get them properly sticking again, you need to remove them, clean off the off the old tape and reapply new double sided tape. I got my tape off ebay. 3M tape is very expensive.

Random side note, what roof rack is this?

Back on topic,

I have to re-attach mine too, for some odd reason I'm fond on the look with them?

Just used some trim tape to re-attach mine, but I have to admit I really like the look of the "naked" sides.

7 bucks for 10 foot at autozone...

10 foot would do more than enough. you dont have to go full length of the trim pieces. you could do 3 inch sections or so spaced out along the trim.

Those things were the first to go when I got my 01 XJ 1.5 years ago. Getting the residual tape and adhesive off was a pain in the *** though. I used a rubber friction wheel on my cordless drill and it did the trick. You can get one at a body shop supply place for about $6-. They use them to remove pin striping it think.

I would buy a low rack like this for my Commander in a heatbeat. Very nice.
