Side of road won't start
I know I should search but my iPhone keeps closing the window when I try to search. I put the key in and it beeped twice and I attempted to turn and nothing. No clicks no nothing. So I tried to jump it off. It beeped a few more times and still nothing. Could the battery just be so far gOne? Or is it something else. 99 Cherokee 4.0. Again I'm on the side of the road so all help is appreciated.

No. Its cold outside, started this morning fine and went to work came outside to go home and it's not starting. No noises what so ever. I tried hitting what I think was the starter with my shoe and nothing still

Does the fact that I get no response from anything indicate anything to anyone? What is the trick that is supposed to make the starter work if the starter has gone bad?

If everything else it working but the engine is not cranking it could be as I already said the solenoid or a bad relay in the starting circuit.
Usually takes a hammer or pipe to hit the solenoid with. It is a smaller cylinder mounted on the starter. I found it easier to hit it from the top with a pipe.
But first you can check the relays under the hood, and see if there is a starting relay. Pull the A/C relay (if equipped) and put it in the starting spot.
Edit: Nothing else works? Lights, radio, etc?
That is more than a starter issue.. maybe a dead battery.

Yeah nothing at all is working. But when I tried to jump it off it still wouldn't work. I'm gonna try to jump it off again and hope for the best. When the cables were hooked up it beeped again but never did fire, but after I tried to crank it it didn't beep anymore.

what i'm getting at is if your clock wont come on or the lights wont come on, not even dimly, then it's more than likely your connections to your battery. if someone is with you have them try turning the key while you play around with the terminals... sounds stupid but it has happend to me several times.
The one time i was stranded it turned out to be a wire harness was rubbed through and killed everything.
