It is held on with double sided tape. Get it started and then pull it off. You will be left with a strip of double sided tape that is a PITA to get off. I got something like this (
https://www.amazon.com/ABN-Rubber-Eraser-Adapter-1-Pack/dp/B018WG2XYE/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=drill+eraser&qid=1576363725&sr=8-4 https://www.amazon.com/ABN-Rubber-Eraser-Adapter-1-Pack/dp/B018WG2XYE/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=drill+eraser&qid=1576363725&sr=8-4
) and it came off pretty easily. Gives the Cherokee n entirely different look.

Dental floss or fishing line works pretty good.
If you plan on keeping the molding just be sure to stay flush with the Jeep.
Cause if you do not you will cut into the molding really easily.
Frankly I prefer this. 3M 08984 General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner
It is not cheap but works really well.
Comes with a little nozzle top and will let you drip stuff on the top of the molding.
Give it a couple seconds to work. Little goes a long way and it does not evaporate quickly like other kinds do.
This will release the 1/2 double sided tape at the top of the molding and then you can get at the 1/4" at the bottom.
Also will work really well for cleaning up the gunk on the Jeep after you remove them.

Thank you for posting these solutions. I just bought a Cherokee and need to remove the moldings off of it.
