side mirror swap? without breaking any glass????

side mirror swap? without breaking any glass????
So the other week i pulled some really nice chromed side mirrors off of an older xj. I want to swap them onto my 96. The internals of the ones a pulled a shot. all i want is the outside casing. How do i go about getting the mirrors out of the ones on my xj now with out breaking them?
