Wow, that Jp magazine pack seems complicated. I took the XJ main leaf and strapped an entire dakota pack to the bottom. Cut the eyes of the dakota main and put it right under the XJ main

Trimmed and clipped

Solid 3 inches of lift

The rear rides fine.

I lifted the front with ZJ springs and pucks, and I am getting more and more tired of the bouncing. 3" coils are in my future

On a smooth road, or off road the ZJ springs are fine. On a bumpy PA road they can get tiresome.

I think guys have had some luck with the s10 springs getting around 4", you could always add a shackle

I would say extra XJ main leaf, lift shackle (MJ or other), TNT U-bolt eliminator.. maybe HD shackle relocation bracket?

I used an entire s10 pack (4leaf) under my XJ main and netted 3.5"

If i were to do it again and to get some more lift, I would cut into the s10 eye hole to where it begins to curl. The s10 main on mine isnt the full length of my XJ main, I'm sure more lift is to be had.

I did an s10 bastard pack before this dakota one, and I make the mistake of cutting my eyes too short. I only had about 3 inches of lift, which decreased to 1 over a year. Gotta make sure you cut them long!

I used a 95 dakota pack that had 4 leafs in it. I just interlaced them with cherokee leafs. So that is Cherokee main then dakota main with the eyes cut off then cherokee, dakota, cherokee, and so on until I had 6 leafs in the pack. I'm not sure if the bottom leaf is cherokee or dakota. It rides a little stiff but its fine. Not sure what I actually netted but the front is 4.5 in. rough country coils, 1 in spacer, and adjustable control arms with that bastard pack with stock shackle and it sits fine. This is a pic of it after I lifted it.

Hey lsc91 your link didn't work (even logged into FB)...

mdcmn7... any idea which 3" front springs you might switch over to? I like the way your Jeep sits but I want a comfy ride. When looking at lifts and individual springs I don't see many companies listing spring rates... maybe if I call they could tell me but I figure there must be certain springs with a reputation for riding better than others...

I just tried the link on both post and it took me right to it but I may have done something wrong. I forgot to mention that along with the bastard pack I drilled out my cherokee leafs to fit the larger center pin in it cause the dakota takes the larger pin. I just drill the leafs with a 25/64 drill billbut I did it slow and used lots of cutting oil. Its kinda like stainless so make sure you go real slow

Heres mine. Used all the leafs from both packs, and started with the Main XJ, then main S10, then XJ then S10 and so on and so on...

Top spring pack is bastard packed, bottom one is stock XJ spring pack -

And heres the writeup I followed -

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/s1...ard-pack-1380/

Got about 4.5" or so, then 2" shackled it as well -
