Default Should I buy this???

Hey guys, just thinking about buying this and parting it out. Do you think it would be a good/smart idea? Is that a good price? Do you think I can make money out of the deal? Seems in pretty good shape besides the front end and a little on passenger side.

Any input helps. Please help me decide!! thanks!

I would knock the price down and go in with cash show up with like 4-500 cash. or if your interested have a buddy show up with 400 cash and with out looking at it offer that. and see what the guy says. Yah easier to do it ova email but easier for him to blow you off.

if u get it let me kno if it has cruise control

Depending on condition the trany could be worth $200+, T-case $200+ Engine mabye $200 depending on condition. The rear axle $100+.. These are based on prices I have seen and also depends on demand..You could easily part it out for more then $500 if you pull the parts and advertise the big stuff on craigslist and the small stuff on forums and ebay.

haha i dont know about that, kinda a dick move if we have an agreement you know? I think 500 is fair judging on OKC's price estimates. I think it will work out pretty good.
But what do i do with it when i wanna get rid of it? Where do i bring it? does it cost money to scrap it?

u bring it to a scrap yard and u get money for it. right now the price of metal is down but u can junk the whole car in one shot and brake it down. u get more money if u separate out the alluminum form the steel and **** liek that, but it is alot easyer to just junk the whole car. last summer aroudn me u coudl get 300 for a car, the haviery it is the more money u get. jsut go on google map and look for scrap yards and give them a call and ask

lil background on myself, I love 5 series BMW. I have rebuilt a few wrecks, parted out a couple, etc. I have 2 in the driveway now. A car without a title is automatically worth much less because you can't do anything with it, other than part it out. I bought a 97 540i for 800 bucks, and am still selling parts off it 2.5 years later. Sure I made a buck but it's been a lot of hassle and a ton of hard wrenching.

I bought a straight/running XJ for 400 dollars....

When you go to scrap the shell you will have to cut it into small pieces or find someone willing to look the other way- scrap yards want titles, for legal reasons.

It's worth 500 bucks- but only to you and I for parts. If you are the type that likes to procrastinate on your projects dont buy it. It will just sit there in your way. If you are needing something from it and can dismantle and store the parts right away snag it.

I kind of agree here. It is easy for us to tell you to buy it, but we don't have to store it until all the parts are gone. If there are major things you want, get it. If not you might let it pass by. But if you get it anyway, I would like the driver's side door panel!

My uncle is a scrapper had one of my cousins owns a junk yard so might be why i never had a problem:-p

But i kno around me u see in newspapers "buy your car $200 bucks" or "junk car for free" They are all for gusy that junk cars and they make a profit on it, that is an other option. Would get less money in the end, or none. But then the shell is not your problem/ eye saw in the yard.

I had a 93 explorer I needed gone, it was really rusty. lost the title years ago and the truck had sat like a year without moving. I couldnt get my usual place to take it so I found a guy advertising on craigslist looking for junkers. He came and got it and gave me 100 bucks for it no title, we made a bill of sale. There are ways to get it done.
