will the scrap yards take it if you cut it up? I kno in Rhode island u don't need a title if the car is like 10 yrs old, all u need is the old registration from the old owner and bill of sale. Is there any way to track down the original owner.

but ether way some one will take it after it is gutted, just got to figure out who in your area will. look in the small local papers for ppl who junk cars.

haha thats a good point man! thank you! very true. I think i could talk my neighbor into letting me use his fork lift to get her up on the trailer!
And yes titles are so important! it kinda sucks but is also very smart at the same time. who knows whats going on in this situation of mine. very sketchy haha

Your help would be great man!! And if i get it you got dibs on the drivetrain!!
I just talked to my buddy that works at Holmes Scrap yard in Iron, MN which is right outside hibbing. He said being a totaled vehicle they would take it w/o question. They just take a picture of you and your license plate. 30 dollars a ton for scrap cars there right now.

Holmes scrap yard is very professional. They have fancy magnets and forklifts and a good crew to help out. If you go get it let me know.

no but you would be questioned about where you got it no doubt. I'm just looking out for your best interest- go by your gut instincts.

Chances are the truck is just wrecked and no one wants to mess with it other than selling it cheap and cutting their losses. If he wont supply the vin number to you though I think you should not even go look at it. He should have nothing to hide when selling this with no title. If he is hiding something forget it, its bad news.

It is only worth what some one is willing to give for it I sold an 86 xj to a scrap yard and got $475 for it when the market was good and I HAD to have a title if you are unsure of the purchase I would wait the guy out a week or two and offer him 400 for it since most scrap yards if any will take a vehical w/o a title and he would be lucky if he is will get 300 for it at a scrap yard.
